They can connect onto another player's answer each time they take a turn or students can race to get rid of all of their dominoes using their math skills before all other players.WHAT'S INCLUDED?33 math games33 math skillseasy to playeasy to differentiatemultiple ways to play33 2ND GRADE MATH SKILLS INCLUDED: 10 More 10 Less100 More 100 LessAdd 3 Numbers Add 4 NumbersAdd and Subtract to 20Add and Subtract to 100Add and Subtract to 1000Add to 20Add to 100Add to 1000Associative Property of AdditionCM or MCommutative Property of AdditionCompare 3 Digit NumbersEven or OddGeometryHalves Thirds FourthsHundreds Tens & OnesInches or FeetAdd & Subtract Missing NumbersMoneyExpanded Form to 1000Base Ten Blocks to 1000Place Value to 1000 ReviewWord Form to 1000Repeated AdditionSkip Count by 5sSkip Count by 10sSkip Count by 100sSubtract to 20Subtract to 100Subtract to 1000Tell Time to the 5 MinuteHOW TO PLAY DOMINOES:Step 1: Shuffle all dominoes and then lay them face down on the table. Each player should draw 8 dominoes and flip them over in front of themselves. Step 2: The first player places one of their dominoes on the table, with one end touching the middle of the playing area with a matching answer.Step 3: The next player must then try to place one of their dominoes so that it connects to one end of the domino already on the table, with the same answer on the connecting end.Step 4: If a player cannot make a move, they must skip their turn and draw another domino to add to their pile.Step 5: Play continues until one player runs out of dominoes.HOW TO DIFFERENTIATE:RACING:My students’ favorite way to play is with NO turns! Simply place a card in the middle and split up all the dominoes evenly amongst all players. When gameplay begins, students race to see who can place all of their dominoes on the board first. Students work off of other players' dominoes placed down to help get rid of their own dominoes. If students don’t see a way to place a domino on the board, they wait for other players to lay down more dominoes that they are able to connect to. This high-energy version of the game is sure to get your students excited and engaged.COLLABORATE:If you don’t want students to race, you could also have students put the dominoes together collaboratively. Give each team a set of dominoes and split them equally amongst all students in the team. Place a domino to start in the middle. Explain to the team that the goal is for all players to help build a large domino train with all questions connecting to answers in the shortest amount of time possible. When they finish the first round, have them play again and try to beat their first time. This collaborative approach fosters teamwork and communication skills while also providing an opportunity for students to practice critical thinking and problem-solving.All 2nd grade domino games are aligned to common core standards and Texas TEKS.These Math Domino Games are great as 2nd grade math activities, 2nd grade math spiral review, second grade math review, 2nd grade math games, 2nd grade math centers, partner activities, whole class games, independent math games, and more.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You May Also Like:2nd Grade Classroom Transformations2nd Grade Math Task Cards2nd Grade Enrichment Math ActivitiesAddition and Subtraction Fact Fluency2nd Grade Grab It Games------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Other Information:Follow me and be notified when new products are uploaded.
