To ensure parts meet skin-contact safety standards, the recommended post-processing conditions for Tough 1500 Resin must be strictly followed.Tough 1500 Resin V1 is compatible with Form 3 series printers, while Tough 1500 Resin V2 is designed for Form 4, featuring an improved formulation with ten times greater fracture toughness. What is the difference between Tough 1500 V1 versus V2? Colour The V1 formulation produced parts in a light grey shade, clearly distinguishing it from its counterpart, Tough 2000. In the Tough 1500 V2 formulation, parts now feature a new flat, dark grey colour, more closely resembling Tough 2000. This change enhances aesthetics, aligning with the colour improvements seen in the evolution from GP Resins V3 to V4. Mechanical Properties Tough 1500 V2 was designed to emphasise the toughness metrics that matter most to users, such as Work of Fracture and Gardner Impact. These were prioritised over the more commonly reported Notched Izod value. The Bridge between Tough and DurableTough 1500 resin offers the durability, low friction and pliability of Durable Resin however it retains some of the strength and rigidity of Tough 200o Resin. Thus making it ideal for strong components which will require flexibility but also be long lasting.Resistant to Permanent DeformationAlthough Tough 1500 has the ability to be bent or compressed, it is generally a rigid material. It will not permanently deform unless exposed to a very large load.Elongation and Fatigue ResistanceThe Elongation at Break (%) of Tough 1500 is 51, it can withstand extreme elongation before breaking or failing.Tough 1500 can withstand repeat, cyclic uses under high loads.
